🏃♂️ They’re Getting Muddy So Others Don’t Feel Alone
On Sunday 4th May, two incredible supporters, Andy and Martin from Burnham-on-Crouch are stepping up (and sinking in!) to take on the legendary Maldon Mud Race – all to raise vital funds for Reach Out For Mental Health.
They’ll be wading through thick mud, soaked to the skin, and cheered on by crowds – all because they believe in what we do. And we’re so proud to have them represent us.
“Mental health support should be available before things hit crisis point. I’m running because this charity offers just that – a safe space to be heard.” – Andy
💙 Why This Matters
At Reach Out For Mental Health, we’re here for people who feel like giving up.
We’re a small local suicide prevention charity offering early intervention – through free 12-week support, weekly telephone befriending, and community-based coffee catch-ups.
We’re not a crisis service. We’re often the first person someone speaks to when they’re struggling. Our team listens without judgement, and we walk alongside people at their lowest.
But we can’t do this alone.
🎯 Our Fundraising Goal: £1,000
We’re aiming to raise £1,000 through this challenge to help us support even more people across Essex.
Here’s what your donation could do:
£10 = one supportive phone call
£25 = refreshments and venue hire for a safe coffee group
£50 = training and resources for our incredible volunteers
Every penny helps us keep going – and keep showing up for those who feel like no one cares.
🧠 Suicide Prevention Starts With Connection
Isolation, overwhelm, and silence often come before crisis. That’s where we step in – with kindness, empathy, and a real human connection.
“I didn’t want to be here anymore. But I found Reach Out, and it changed everything.” – Service User
Your donation helps us keep that door open for someone else.
🙌 Help Us Cross the Finish Line
Please support our muddy legends and help us raise awareness for suicide prevention.
Whether you donate £2 or £20, you’re helping someone find hope in the darkest moments.
