Muddy areas around in gateways, feed areas and field shelters cause many issues in the winter months. Last year, were were lucky to win a pallet of mats which have proven invaluable, giving support to our ponies, donkeys and other residents.

Mud can cause many foot problems such as mud fever, abcesses and foot rot. The mats would also help our more vulnerable residents, like elderly Keith and little Brambles, who find it hard to walk on gravel surfaces. We currently have to use a small panel of rubber mat for our ponies, moving it along as they walk. Having mats in place will help them move between paddocks more comfortably.

Muddy gateways make it really difficult to get in and out of paddocks safely. The mats will help keep our staff, volunteers, visitors and vehicles safe. We would love to get these areas protected with Mudcontrol mats, before the winter sets in.

They are easy to use, are made from recycled waste, do not cause erosion or run off from rain, and they can be moved around the sanctuary.
