The MUKTI Project was established by the Traditional Yoga Association with the support of Garuda Studio, London, to raise funds for street children in India. We also help charities for the homeless in the UK. Everyone who works for MUKTI is a volunteer and none of the funds raised goes to salaries.

Story

For a number of years the Mukti Project (run by the Traditional Yoga Association) and supported by the Garuda Studio has raised funds for varying projects in India and the UK. Most of our funding goes to India and in the past we have supported on-site schools for the children of bonded labourers, a home for battered women and homes for street children. Currently we are sending annual grants to two projects in India: Karm Marg, a home for street children where they themselves have created a family and a business to assist in the upkeep of their home and Naz, a home for abandoned children who are HIV positive or who have AIDS. In the UK we make annual grants to Launchpad in Reading and Centrepoint in London (the homes of TYA and Garuda respectively).
