Story
Christmas should be a time of joy, but for families restricted by poverty, it is becoming more and more stressful.
Dad's like David, featured in our supporter Christmas Appeal had to choose between heating his home and buying food for himself and his four year old daughter Phoebe last Winter.
Vicky, Mum to Samira should have been looking forward to her first baby's first Christmas but felt she was failing her daughter because she couldn't afford to feed her. Vicky says 'The worry was constant. It isn't just the food. Every time I turned a light on I'd think 'if I do that, will I be able to buy food and afford nappies".
No charity can replace the dignity of having enough money to cover the cost of essentials, but with your help the Trussell Trust and the 1200 food bank centres in the food bank network can provide emergency food, give compassionate, practical help to people to resolve their crisis, and campaign for structural change for a future where everyone has enough money coming in to buy their own food.
