Founded by Lucy Putman and Tom Schroeder of Wasserman Music, Music Mudder is a music-inspired endurance event that sees teams from across the music industry take on an adrenaline pumping obstacle course to raise vital funds for Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy. The inaugural event in 2019 was hugely successful, raising a staggering £64,000 for the charity.

Nordoff Robbins believes that everyone should have access to the value of music. Its trained music therapists work with children and adults affected by life limiting illness such as dementia, learning disabilities including Autism, physical disability and mental health issues. Through the power of music, trained therapists connect with some of the most isolated people in our society. Nordoff Robbins music therapists work with over 270 schools, hospitals, hospices and care homes, as well as providing sessions from its centres across the UK.

Music Mudder 2022 will take place on Friday 2 September at Camelot Events legendary obstacle course in the picturesque woodland of Dorking, Surrey. Running in groups of 10, teams will tackle challenging obstacles on the ultimate UK mud run including the Bog of Doom, Rat Crawl, Kamikaze and River Crossing, whilst also competing to raise as much money as possible for Nordoff Robbins. Alongside the main event, there will be live music, a selection of food vendors, refreshing drinks and a celebratory atmosphere.

Lucy Putman, Agent, Wasserman Music, said: After the success of the inaugural event in 2019, we are so excited to be bringing back Music Mudder this year bigger, better and muddier than ever before. Whether teams are competitive or joining just for fun, this is a great way to beat the post-festival season blues, whilst raising funds to help Nordoff Robbins keep offering their amazing music therapy and promote the value of music for all people in society.

Sandy Trappitt, Head of Partnerships, Nordoff Robbins, said: Partnering with the fantastic team at Wasserman Music, we invite our friends from across the music world to team-up with colleagues and join us for a packed day of entertainment, adventure and world-class obstacles, all to support Nordoff Robbins in our mission to provide music therapy, helping people to connect and communicate. See you on the course!

About Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy

As the UKs largest music therapy charity, Nordoff Robbins stands for music and believes in the value of music for all people in society. In particular, it uses the power of music to enrich the lives of people affected by life-limiting physical and mental illness, disabilities or feelings of isolation. The charity provides a range of different sessions for children and adults of all ages in its centres in London, Manchester, Newcastle and Scotland - from specialised one-to-one music therapy to shared sessions for groups of different sizes and formats. Nordoff Robbins works in partnership with over 280 organisations to bring music therapy to as many vulnerable people who could benefit from it as possible. These include schools, care homes, hospices, hospitals, mental health services, and brain injury units.

Music Therapy is a recognised health and therapeutic intervention. Therapists are highly skilled musicians and are trained to an exceptional standard. They work with people to engage their own unique musicality, in order to support their development, recovery, health, potential and wellbeing. It is particularly impactful for those living with significant challenges. Training in the Nordoff Robbins approach to music therapy formally began in 1974 and is now delivered under Goldsmiths University and is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
