The Medical Women's Federation was founded in 1917 and is today the largest and most influential body of women doctors in the UK. We are the voice of UK medical women on medical issues.

The MWF has five strategic aims:

1) Profile - Raise the profile of the MWF in the UK so that ALL medical women know about us and have an opportunity, and encouragement to join us.

2) Potential: Support women medical students and doctors to reach their full potential by championing equality, flexibility and leadership for medical women.

3) Prosperity (financial): Focus on growing and maintaining financial prosperity through increasing member numbers, fundraising and good governance, to maintain our rich heritage and be ready for the future

4)Policy: Contribute actively to health and care policy where it concerns or impacts on women doctors and women’s health

5) Partnership: work in partnership with other organisations to support medical women and womens health
