Multiple myeloma is a life-threatening blood cancer that remains incurable, despite advances in treatment. It affects around 6,000 people in the UK every year, yet it remains under-recognised and often diagnosed late.

Research at the University of Edinburgh focuses on genetic instability in myeloma cells, a key driver of disease progression and high-risk cases. By gaining deeper insights into these genetic changes, we aim to develop better diagnostic tools and identify new treatment targets.
