Story
We are thrilled to be launching Belles book - My Engine Parts - for Organ Donation Week 2022!
We want all children to read Belle's brilliant book, so were starting with all the children in Wales!
We are pledging to give 2 FREE copies to every primary school in Wales (one in English, one in Welsh) but we need help to raise the money to print 2438 copies, plus a few extra!
The dream is to continue campaigning to raise enough to give free copies of My Engine Parts to primary schools across the UK.
So, how did Belle's story get made into a book?
In 2021, we met Roydon Turner, storyteller and creative director and founder of the Orgamites. When he learned of Belle's wish to get all children talking about organ donation, and her analogy of people being just like the cars her Dad fixed in his garage, he made it into a book!
With beautiful illustrations by Anthony Rule, My Engine Parts is a brilliant, uplifting look at the similarities between people and cars - from both needing fuel and a regular wash, to also needing a fix sometimes in order to keep on cruising.
Belle was put on the emergency transplant list in 2018 when she was 9 years old but, in April 2019, her lungs stopped working before she could get a new set. Belle's Story charity is run entirely by volunteers, encouraging families to talk about organ donation, whilst supporting children with life-limiting illnesses.

Thank you for reading - we hugely appreciate all the support we receive and we cant wait for children all over Wales, and the UK (maybe even the world!) to be holding copies of My Engine Parts!
