The Myton Mountain - Which virtual mountain will you climb?
Here at The Myton Hospices we have a mountain to climb to keep our fundraising going during this difficult time and were hoping you can help us by climbing a mountain of your own (not literally, but almost!).
Whether youre working from home or have made it into the office, a child or teenager on school lockdown, or a super-fit over-70 (or under-70) in self-isolation, everyone can complete this challenge and help us meet our challenge too.
The #Mytonmountain will also help keep you fit and healthy an important part of the battle against Coronavirus!
The average height of a staircase in a UK home is 7.87ft, so weve worked out how many times you would have to climb your stairs to scale the heights for Myton this summer.
If your office stairs are different, you can just divide the total footage of the mountain by the height of your stairs (in feet) and that will tell you how many times you will need to climb your stairs.
The walk back down doesnt count towards your total thats your descent of the mountain!
Everest 29,079ft = 3,695 stair ascents
Kilimanjaro 19,340ft = 2,457 stair ascents
Ben Nevis 4,413ft = 561 stair ascents
Snowdon 3,560ft 452 stair ascents
Scafell Pike 3,210ft = 408 stair ascents
Malvern Hills 1,394ft = 177 stair ascents.
You dont have to reach for the stars with this challenge you could always start off with the Malvern Hills and slowly work your way up the different levels until youve reached your peak.
