Nottingham Mencap support people with learning disabilities and autism in and around Nottingham. We run several services such as:

Individual befriending supports children, young people and adults in the community. This allows carers to have some respite and to enable the people we support to gain skills, feel part of their community and be more active.

Evening and weekend groups for children and young people. There are various groups for a variety of age groups to support socialisation, gaining skills and being active in a collaborative way.

Campaigning which raises the profile of discrimination and hate crime within Nottinghamshire.

Accessible IT which is a commissioned service through Nottinghamshire County Council to support digitally excluded, vulnerable people to be connected through the loan and training with a Lenovo tablet.

Day service provision. This is a service which supports people during the week. We run several activities within the week such as basic skills (maths and english), independent cooking, drama, interactive technology, community sports and many others. It's the community sports group that are taking the lead with the swimathon. The funds raised with this will go towards a residential activities weekend for some of our attendees, who would not usually be able to access such activities. We can't wait!
