Story
This year, we are encouraging each walker to try and raise at least £100 in support of our medical equipment fund, so we can make this a fundraising night to remember.
Funding the purchase of medical equipment that enhances diagnosis, improves treatment and delivers better care has and continues to be a key focus for us. Equipment we want to fund this year will benefit patients across a range of services including surgical, breast radiology, respiratory, colorectal, ear, nose and throat, maternity, frailty and physiotherapy.
Last year, we had 300 people take part, raising over £60,000, which was a magnificent effort by all involved. Over half of the monies raised are being used to ensure all families that lose a child at Kingston Hospital can face the unimaginable with the support of an experienced bereavement psychologist.
Those taking part also have the option of choosing to raise funds for a service or ward that matters to them. If you do choose to support a particular service or ward rather than our equipment fund, please remember to provide details on your JustGiving fundraising page when you set it up.
"It’s been a privilege to be able to walk, once again, for the Kingston Hospital Charity in memory of our wonderful father who died back in 2021, but who was so well cared for and supported by the hospital over the last 20 years or so. We will forever be indebted to the hospital for their care and professionalism – it’s a pleasure to be able to give something back to support the Kingston Hospital community." - TOM, NIGHT TO REMEMBER PARTICIPANT
"We were delighted to walk for Kingston Hospital Charity to support the amazing work they do to enhance the patient experience. Kingston Hospital is close to my heart as a volunteer in A&E where I see first-hand the incredible care given by our doctors and nurses. The Night to Remember walk was a way to thank you to Kingston Hospital for all the times that they have been there for my family when we needed them most." - HELEN, NIGHT TO REMEMBER PARTICIPANT
