Story
£8.50. Three days of food. One person helped.
For many people in our community, crisis does not arrive with warning.
It can be a delayed benefit payment. A sudden job loss. Rising bills. Debt pressure. The risk of homelessness. Or simply reaching the end of the week with nothing left.
At Narthex, we meet people at that point of crisis.
Emergency food is often the first support someone needs — but it is rarely the only support they require.
What your donation can do:
Just £8.50 can provide three days of emergency food for one person.
That means:
one person can eat while they work out what happens next;
one parent can feed themselves without going hungry;
one person in crisis gets breathing space, dignity, and support.
Food support is often the first step. From there, we can listen, understand what else is going on, and connect people to further help.
