NATURE AND MUSIC

Reiko Fujisawa, members of the Carducci String Quartet and other chamber musicians will inspire you to admire the beauty and importance of the natural world through music, and to think about our environment from a fresh perspective.

Mainland Music Foundation has been set up as a charity to deliver high quality performances of classical music. We want to deliver experiences which will enhance the lives of our audiences through the quality of the music performed and the excellence of the performers.

Story

The sun, the moon, the wind, rain and earth: the elemental forces of nature surround us. We can't live without nature, but being so close to it, we forget its constant presence, and fail to respect it. Now, we are more than ever aware of our impact on our climate and the world's precious resources. In this series of concerts, Reiko Fujisawa and friends will perform repertoire that focuses on both tangible and spiritual aspects of nature. Modern classics and fascinating rarities, especially by women composers, complement chamber music landmarks.

Mainland Music Foundation aims to deliver experiences which will enhance the lives of our audiences through the quality of the music performed and the excellence of the performers. However, we want to deliver something more than that. We aim to deliver programmes which speak strongly to key issues in peoples lives and in the world around us, and which open peoples minds to different perspectives.

Funds raised in excess of our initial target of £15,000 will be applied to future projects and activities of Mainland Music Foundation.
