Human trafficking and modern slavery are growing worldwide issues that affect all countries globally, including, perhaps surprisingly, highly developed countries. There are over 40 million trapped in slavery worldwide and vulnerabilities have been exacerbated by recent events.
They're trapped in factories, businesses, and homes. Making our clothes, serving our food, picking our crops, working in factories, or working in houses as cooks, cleaners, or nannies.
There could not be a more important time to take action.
Throughout July, and ahead of World Day Against Trafficking of People on the 30th of July, colleagues from across NatWest Group will be raising money to support TRIBE Freedom Foundation and their mission to fight modern slavery.
Want to get involved?:
- Colleagues in London are welcome to join the NatWest charity bike ride, a 100km/60- mile challenge from London to Brighton. Register here .
- Colleagues outside London, either individually or as part of a team, can run, cycle, walk or swim the equivalent 100km/60 miles throughout July. Register here !
Funds raised by the NatWest team will create a life-changing impact for the survivors of modern slavery, increasing access to safe accommodation and long-term support, alongside TRIBE Freedom Foundation's frontline project partners like Ella's.
Every fundraiser and every donation will make a difference. Together, we will go further and faster to end modern slavery.
Let's do this!
