Story
We have 3 amazing centres throughout the Midlands; King’s Park in Northampton, Pioneer Centre in Shropshire and Whitemoor Lakes near Lichfield and they offer an array of activities and sports such as kayaking, rock climbing, abseiling, zip wire, laser tag, indoor and outdoor tennis, roller skating, trampolining, raft building, paddleboarding, fencing and much, much more. The activities help young people develop their personal and social skills, teaching them resilience, building confidence and self-esteem, promoting inclusion, and allowing them to conquer fears and overcome mental health problems in today's challenging world. We provide a safe, positive environment for young people to spend their leisure time.
In addition to our centres we have an amazing Youth Development team who support and help set up local youth groups, giving practical advice and running craft and sports sessions. They also run leadership training sessions taking young people on a journey of personal development, teaching them to become confident leaders in their groups and communities.
Our centres and youth workers have received more requests than ever from visiting schools and groups asking for financial assistance as many families cannot afford to pay for their child to attend. Unfortunately, this means they are missing out on an important developmental experience, whilst isolating them from their friends and peers. As a charity we try to mitigate this as much as possible and help where we can through our own funds, but this is possible to only a certain extent.
Our children relish the time they have at the Pioneer Centre, often the first holiday they have had away and as staff we see the difference this opportunity has on our children. (Headteacher, Bushbury Hill Primary)
We do not want any child to miss out and feel they have been excluded, as this will impact on their self-confidence and the memories they take away from their final year in Primary school. (Yr 6 teacher, St Oswald's C E Primary)

We are seeking help to increase our Bursary Fund:
> so every child CAN participate in indoor caving and raft building at the Pioneer Centre and won’t feel left out and excluded from a school trip
> so a young person CAN have something to look forward to during the school holidays and enjoy a free roller skating session at Benham Sports Centre, or a free game of tennis at the Tennis Centre
> so a child CAN enjoy the thrill of the zip wire and a hearty warm lunch in the dining room at Whitemoor Lakes
These are experiences we’ve no doubt all enjoyed in the past and taken for granted. It is probably very difficult to imagine our childhood without a school residential or a trip to the local sports centre but it is the reality that for some children this just won’t be part of their childhood and they are truly missing out.
We wish to raise funds to be able to provide as many free places for disadvantaged children as possible. Can you help by donating to our bursary fund?
