Help Build a Community Library in Rural Nepal 📚☕
In a remote hill village in Nepal, around 200 children walk long distances every day to attend a small government school rebuilt after a devastating earthquake. They are keen to learn — but there is no library, no quiet place to read, and often no textbooks.
For many children here, books are a luxury they may never own.
We want to change that.
A Small Library, A Big Difference
This project will create a simple community library where children can read storybooks, study together, and discover a love of learning. It will also be open to the wider community — including women and older people who never had the chance to go to school and would love to learn to read in later life.
The library will be a calm, welcoming space that reduces isolation and brings people together across generations.
Making It Sustainable: The Learning Tea Shop
Alongside the library, we will set up a small Learning Tea Shop serving tea, coffee, and simple local food. It will be a warm place for people to sit, read, and talk — and it will help keep the library running long-term.
20% of the tea shop’s profits will be reinvested into the library, helping to buy new books and maintain the space so it doesn’t rely entirely on donations.
What Your Donation Can Do
We need around £2,100 to set up the library and tea shop.
£25 could buy children’s storybooks
£50 could support adult literacy materials
£100 could help furnish the library with tables and seating
Every contribution — large or small — helps create a place of learning, dignity, and hope.
Why This Matters
This may be a small project, but for this community it is life-changing. It offers children a better start, gives adults a second chance at learning, and creates a shared space for connection and calm.
Your donation won’t just buy books — it will open doors.
Thank you so much for your support
