Netball for All

Netball is a source of national pride in Malawi and a powerful tool for empowering women, promoting education & challenging stereotypes. We are helping more women and girls to participate in the sport, providing essential infrastructure & equipment.

Our partners strive tirelessly to alleviate poverty & hardship in extreme circumstances among young people in Malawi. Drawing on the resources of the GWC community, we focus where we can provide meaningful, long-term support: education, health & wellbeing, sport & culture and the environment.

Story

Netball for All was established in tribute to Belinda Weller, a founding member of the Watson's Malawi Partnership.

As a talented player herself, Belinda was passionate about the game and a strong advocate for the empowering qualities of the sport. In her memory, her friends and family are campaigning to bring netball to more women and girls in Malawi, wherever they live in the country.

To this end, we are committed to putting netball posts in as many schools and communities as we can, distributing netball strips and trainers so generously donated by our local netball clubs and investing in good quality netball balls.

We also fund an annual netball tournament in Lilongwe with the goal to include as many grassroots teams as we can engage.

A highlight of our annual school trip is the match we play against the local Belinda Sisters and Kuala Queens whom we support.
