Here at WARS we have seen a huge soar in unneutered Cats coming through the shelter doors recently. In addition to our domesticated Cats that need our help we are seeing a huge increase in Feral Cats and unfortunately some females also heavily pregnant and unfortunately caught in vulnerable situations, which sadly then has led them to end up in confinement which can highly compromises their welfare. We want to stop this happening, if we can help right from the start we can plan ahead to help prevent any stress or complications further down the line. Feral cats are the same species as our domesticated Cats however, these Cats have not been socialized at all or handled in anyway as our companion Cats have been & therefore essentially live like wild animals and have completely different needs to our pet cats. Feral cats may live alone, or in colonies. Just like our pet Cats they need neutering in order for us to remain on top of the Cat population. We want to help every animal that enters our Shelter, and enable each Cats welfare to be the best it can possibly be, in addition to this we have recently seen a demand in our local area for us to be able to expand our work and help the UKS cat population even more. We would love to be able to expand our services where we can work with our local community and help trap Feral cats that require neutering & veterinary Care while enabling them to be caught humanely and then returned to their familiar environment safely.
