Urgent Mosque Appeal

Assalamu Alaikum

We are a very small community of Muslims living in Hartlepool, which is a small town located in the north east of England. We have been struggling for years to establish a mosque for our community. Alhamdulillah an opportunity came about for us to purchase a building 2 years ago. The total cost of purchasing the building was close to £150k. We managed to raise this amount from within our own community, and purchased the building freehold Alhamdulillah.

The building is in a desperate state of repair as it stands. We have not been able to renovate the building since we moved in due to a lack of funds. We have been praying in the mosque as it is. The building lacks basic facilities such as heating, hot water or wudhu area.

We are urgently appealing to the wider community in the UK to please come forward and help us to complete the renovation works to our mosque.

This is a great opportunity to be part of something important, as for every person who prays Salah, or recites the Quran, you will share a part of that reward.

For Muslims, the building of a masjid, or contributing towards it, is one of the most virtuous forms of Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) that Allah SWT has bestowed upon us. Sadaqah Jariyah will benefit the donor long after they have died.

We pray that you will take up this opportunity to invest in the hereafter.

We have negotiated a contract for the building works to be completed. The total cost of the works comes to £170,000. The building work started on 20th September 2021, and will take approximately 4 months to complete.

The total cost of completing the new mosque is £170,000. We currently have raised £70,000 (within our own community) and need an extra £100,000 to complete the mosque.

(£40000 of the amount we have already raised is Qarz-E-Hasna which we need to return).

We are asking for your help, any donations big or small are welcome. We have exhausted all avenues of fundraising within our community, and we are now appealing to the wider community to help us complete the mosque.

If we are unable to raise the remaining £100,000 then the building works will stop half way through the project, and the mosque will remain unfinished.
