Story

We are Newport Mind, a local and independent mental health charity supporting our community.

We provide vital mental health services locally.

Newport Mind has been supporting the community in Newport for over 40 years. The demand for mental health services is currently greater than ever. With your help, we can continue to meet that demand.

Every penny raised helps to provide life-changing services to people in Newport.

We provide a range of vital services across Newport and beyond.

We work with children and young people through various projects in our Children, Young Person and Families team. We provide support and help to children and young people, as well as their families and school staff. We support children and young people with their mental health in a number of ways and help parents/caregivers understand the challenges their young people may be facing.

We have a Wellbeing team that works within the community directly in a number of inclusive ways. We host a number of different activity based groups where people can meet, perform or learn a new skill and be with others in a safe environment. Our Wellbeing team also offers different self-management courses that can help our users manage their own mental health.

Counselling is an important part of the services we at Newport Mind offer. We have a number of qualified counsellors on our team, who provide one-to-one sessions to people of all ages.

Our housing and tenancy team helps people with complex mental health needs acquire and manage living in their own accomodation. They also provide information and support for help with cost of living, bringing residences up to a good standard and supporting those who need it with negotiating tenancies.

We also offer training courses through our dedicated and accredited trainer. Our paid-for training is useful for both personal and business alike, and includes courses such as Mental Health First Aid.

These valuable services can only continue with support from people like you. Thank you for helping us to be there for our community.
