Help Us Rebuild The Newton Tony Memorial Playground

Our village playground lies at the heart of our community. It’s a fun place for children to play and families to connect. But it is showing its age and urgently needs replacing. That’s what we’re fundraising for.

Story

Our much-loved and well-used playground, created over 30 years ago from a donation by the Jowett family in memory of their son, Peter, is showing its age. The playground is looking tired and urgently needs replacing.

The Memorial Playground Project committee want to revitalise the playground to ensure it remains a fun and safe place for generations to come.

We need your help

To achieve our goal of installing the new equipment by the end of the year we desperately need to raise vital funds.

OUR TARGET IS £70,000

This is the realistic cost of installing new, safe and accessible playground equipment suitable for all ages, along with essential new surfacing and fencing.

As a small, rural village with a population of no more than 400 people, we know this is a huge target to reach. Yet we also know, as a close-knit community, we can rely on you to support us in whichever way you can.

To get us started both the Parish Council and the Memorial Hall have each given us £5000 towards the playground. Various grants are also being applied for to help us achieve our target.

We can only build the new playground and replace the current substandard equipment by reaching our target.
