On Saturday the 16th of July at 10.30am on Newtown Green field (by Ronkswood Community Centre) we are holding a 'Blindfold Mile' in support of New College Worcester. We are inviting people to take on the unusual and memorable challenge of walking a mile blindfolded whilst raising funds for NCW.
Our aim is to spread awareness of vision impairment and allow people to experience some of the challenges that blind and partially sighted people overcome each day.
Anyone can get involved, all you need is a guide and a blindfold!
New College Worcester is a national residential school and college for young people aged 11 to 19 who are blind or vision impaired.
Every student at NCW has a tailored programme, carefully planned and delivered to meet their individual needs in three key areas; academic achievement, independent living skills and involvement in extracurricular activities at the College and in the community.
The opportunities provided to students in these three areas of provision play a crucial role in the development of confidence and self-esteem and preparation for life beyond our College.
We are really happy to support a local school in our area and hope to raise funds to support the students.
