No Panic is a UK-wide charity supporting adults and young people. We offer information, understanding, and practical help to those who are struggling with severe anxiety, panic attacks, and OCD-related disorders, and to the carers who support them.

Story

No Panic is a UK-wide charity supporting adults and young people. We offer information, understanding, and practical help to those who are struggling with severe anxiety, panic attacks, and OCD-related disorders, and to the carers who support them.

Severe anxiety and OCD can have a huge impact – affecting a person's quality of life, relationships, and their school and family life. Some may not be able to leave their home, leading to a loss of income and self-esteem.

No Panic are facing a critical funding shortfall that puts our vital anxiety support services at risk. We urgently need your help to bridge this gap and keep our helpline and 1-to-1 sessions available.

We are run almost entirely by volunteers, who give their time for free to provide an essential helpline 12 hours a day, 365 days a year – offering calm and compassionate support when people need it most.

Alongside our 1-to-1 sessions and recovery programmes, we help people in their recovery from anxiety and to know they are not alone.

Please help us to help others by making a donation, sharing, and leaving a kind message. 💙

Every Pound Makes a Difference

No Panic is a small charity with a big heart. Your donation:

• Helps to keep our helpline open

• Keeps our 1-to1 services for adults and young people up and running

• Helps us train and support our volunteers who make it all possible

Our Youth Services offer dedicated 1-to-1 services for young people aged 10 to 21. We currently can only help a small number of children, and so to respond to demand we are preparing to train up more volunteers. Your donation will ensure our expanding young person’s support service can launch in the coming months to reach more children and young people in need.

More than a fifth of adults across the UK struggle with a common mental health condition*. For many with anxiety, panic attacks, and OCD‑related disorders, No Panic is one of the first places they turn to for understanding, information, and help – providing practical tools and coping strategies to manage anxiety and reduce its impact on daily lives.

Please donate now to bring hope and help to adults and young people across the UK who need us to be there when they need it most. 💙

A personal and inspiring story about living with OCD:

Background

No Panic was started 35 years ago by Colin Hammond MBE after being unable to continue his business due to agoraphobia. He wanted to help others who were facing similar struggles, and the charity went on to become a UK-wide success.

We now have dozens of volunteers keeping the No Panic Helpline open 12 hours a day, every day, answering hundreds of calls every week – using anxiety management tools and coping strategies that are evidence-based.

No Panic employ just two part time staff to work in the office, where they run the charity day-to-day, and interact with the public. They are based at No Panic’s charity shop in Telford, providing further income for the charity.

Meanwhile all of our dedicated helpliners, trainers, trustees and committee members are volunteers. Many will have had experience of anxiety themselves or of supporting friends and family through severe anxiety.

Thank you again so much for your kindness and support. Please make a donation right now and add a message if you can. Your support ensures no one has to face panic or anxiety alone.💙

Testimonials

I have appreciated all the help that I have had from No Panic and I have made many big steps which I thought that I would never achieve – I have surprised myself. To No Panic thank you for helping me there is now light out of the end of that dark tunnel, even though it has been a long journey. Many thanks again. – Jayne

May I take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to your fantastic organisation and your wonderful volunteers who have been so helpful to me in recent weeks. – Caroline

I would like to say a huge thank you to you and everyone else at No Panic for all the good work you do. Since joining No Panic 2 years ago, my life has changed completely, I can now go out on my own, shopping and I have even met a lovely, lovely man. I know this would not have happened if I had not joined No Panic. I have now got a life which for 11 years I just didn’t have. I am very, very grateful to you all. – Elizabeth

I would just like to say thank you to No panic for all your help. Since my attacks have lessened I am now at work full-time and enjoying life to the full again. – Hazel

Firstly I would like to thank No Panic for all the help and support you have given me through my Agoraphobia and Panic Attacks, I cannot thank you enough for the information and advice which has helped me to understand and cope better during my four months of illness. – Jo-Anne

I write to thank your organisation and various helpliners for support, sound advice and patient counselling that I have received. After a lifetime of suffering from phobias, anxiety attacks and occasional OCD everything spiralled out of control last December and I developed Agoraphobia and could not leave my house even to put rubbish out in the bin by my back door! I developed an irrational fear of sound, of all things, and kept checking that there was none around me. In a few weeks, my life was out of control and I was fearful, anxious and depressed that I became suicidal, although I did not actually attempt to end my life. I thought about it constantly and I believe that I may well have killed myself in despair if it had not been for the help I got from your helpliners. – Sandra

I’m now able to go out alone and even think nothing of walking into town on a Saturday afternoon and treating myself to coffee in the local café where I am now on very friendly terms with all the staff. Considering that only 5 years ago I was unable to get dressed, answer the door or answer the phone let alone get to know strangers I feel my recovery has been quite remarkable. – Leah

I would just like to say a thank you to No Panic for all your help. Since my attacks have lessened I am now at work full time and enjoying life to the full again. I think it really helps knowing there are other people who suffer from the same harsh realities of life as you do. Thanks again and keep up the good work. – Paula

I started suffering severe anxiety in March, but discovered No Panic early, and have received so much support, understanding and good advice since that time. At my worst I was calling several times day, but some of the helpliners were so wonderful that I will never forget what they said to me. Along with a greater understanding of anxiety, the main thing they gave me was hope that I could recover and the reassurance that I had the strength to do so, even while I found it hard to believe that I could ever be well again. – Michael
