Norman Park 100 Miles

Organised by Bromley Mencap

John Griffiths is going to cycle 100 Miles around Norman Park to raise money for Bromley Mencap!

Bromley Mencap are a local, independent charity that help and support disabled children and adults, their families and carers. Our mission is to promote the well-being and development of disabled people of all ages in all areas of their lives; and to support their families in supporting them.

Story

On Tuesday 17 September, John will be riding around (and around) Norman Park, Bromley, aiming to finish by 3pm. John would be delighted to have others accompany him for a lap or two (out of the 86 laps that will be required), and we would be delighted if you would also support this endeavour by making a donation.

As a keen cyclist himself, John joined Bromley Mencap in August 2022 as a volunteer with the Bicycle Maintenance Project at The Lodge in Norman Park, Bromley. After all, he thought, what's not to like about encouraging people to engage with bikes! Over the last couple of years, John has been able to see the difference all the activities at The Lodge make to those attending and sometimes rides round the park with them as chaperone when he's there on a Wednesday. Then one day the thought hit him - "why don't I ride around the park enough times to cover 100 miles and raise funds for Bromley Mencap in the process?" So the idea was born, and there was no going back.
