Story
Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. Nearly one million people are living with the condition nationwide, including an estimated 17,000 right here in our county of Norfolk. That’s double the capacity of the South Stand of Carrow Road stadium. Its cruelty overwhelms those who live with it. Its scale strains the NHS, social care, and the wider economy. Its complexity challenges how we research, diagnose, and treat it.
At Alzheimer's Society, we’re here for everybody affected by dementia, whether that's someone with a diagnosis or someone who cares for them. We know the steps needed to create a future where dementia no longer devastates lives. Only together can we beat dementia - by giving vital support to those who need it, both nationally and locally, funding groundbreaking research, and campaigning to make dementia a priority.
We’re thrilled to be chosen as the charity matchday partner for Norwich City’s fixture against Coventry City. Football should be unforgettable, but for thousands of fans with dementia, this isn't the case. The opportunity to collaborate with our local footballing community gives us an incredible platform to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s Society’s work and ensure people know where to turn when they need help, because no one individual can beat dementia. It will take a society.
