Story
“Being a young carer means you have to work twice as hard as everyone else every single day”
Being a young carer is not a choice:
*Young carers are likely to miss nine more school days a year and achieve lower grades than their classmates – just four GCSEs at Grades A*-C compared to six for non-carers.
*They are 60% less likely to achieve three A levels or equivalent qualifications.
*Young carers are three times as likely to not be in education, employment or training between 16 and 18.
Caring Together Charity supports young carers through our Young Carer Forums, 1-1 support, and by providing trips and activities aimed at increasing confidence and teaching genuinely useful life skills.
