Story
The festive season for many of us evokes thoughts of sparkly lights, mince pies and most importantly family; Spending quality time together, sharing food and exchanging gifts.
For many young people experiencing homelessness, this is far from reality. Living in emergency or supported housing is sadly primarily caused by family and relationship breakdown.
Relationship breakdown can often mean that these young people may not be welcome to go home or could face challenging situations if they do.
At 1625 we support over 1,600 young people out of homelessness through family mediation, housing support and financial capabilities.
We need your support
1625 has experienced a 30% increase in referrals this year. As the cost of living crisis continues, every penny you donate will ensure vulnerable young people can build healthy relationships, develop skills and access jobs and training.
Together, we can give young people the opportunities they deserve to thrive as independent adults.
Everyone was really supportive. They made me feel like although I'm in this situation, it isn't who I am, they treated me just as a normal person and it didn't matter that I didn't have anywhere to stay.
Even the smallest donations can mean so much to a young person going through a difficult time.
£6 could pay for a young person to go swimming, helping a young person experiencing poor mental health.
£18 could pay for ingredients for a cooking session to teach 4 young people to cook healthy food on a budget
£43.60 could allow 2 young people to register for the AQA unit award scheme allowing them to gain multiple certificates around personal development and life skills
Thank you from everyone at 1625 Independent People
