Story
Nugent’s Sleepout Challenge 2026 is a powerful overnight fundraising event, raising awareness and vital funds to support people across our region who are facing hardship. Nugent Sleepout 2026 will take place at the Reader Mansion House, Calderstones Park, South Liverpool.
Liverpool is considered the 12th most deprived of England’s 296 local authorities. Challenges across our communities persist in health, employment and income, and child poverty means that for many people in our region, life is a daily struggle.
At Nugent, we hear from families facing unimaginable challenges: parents whose children have no bed to sleep in, and people moving from the streets into unfurnished properties with no basic cooking facilities. Others are forced to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table. These are real, urgent pressures—and Nugent is here for anyone who finds themselves having to make these impossible choices.
On the night, participants will sleep outside in the grounds of the Reader Mansion House in Calderstones Park, south Liverpool. Stewards will be on hand throughout the night, and you’ll have access to toilets and refreshments. We’re not attempting to replicate homelessness, but we hope the Nugent Sleepout provides a moment of reflection, helping us all better understand the realities faced by many people across our region.
Every pound raised helps us to keep building stronger communities and brighter futures across our region.
We’re grateful to our Sleepout sponsor, Krol Corlett Construction, for supporting the Nugent Sleepout for another year.
