Oaklands is a community where people grow and develop whilst feeling cared for and valued. Our strength is rooted in the willingness that exists in our community to provide the support for every child to ensure the best opportunity for success. Over the years students have played an active part in the community raising money for many local, national and international good causes.

We value the opportunity that Oaklands provides for every student to achieve their full potential through high quality education and academic success. We recognise that each student has special and different gifts. At Oaklands, we identify those gifts and find opportunities to develop them in a climate where they can be shared and personal achievement can be maximised; where difference is not just tolerated but celebrated.

Funding

To fund projects we bid for capital grants from the Department for Education and contributing to these bids from the Governors’ School Development Fund significantly improves the chances of success. Over the last few years every pound from the Governors’ School Development Fund has successfully leveraged, on average, £55 of funding from the DfE. The money generously donated to the fund really does make a tangible difference. Our success over recent years has now depleted this fund and we really need your help to build it up again so we can carry on with the work we’re doing around the school for the pupils. The Governors’ School Development Fund is more important now, than ever, to help resource what is so desperately needed without diverting core school money away from the teaching and learning front-line activity.
