Today around lunchtime, disaster struck Oak Tree Animals’ Charity when sudden flash floods overwhelmed the site, submerging our kennels and cattery in muddy water. Staff rushed in and acted fast. Thanks to their incredible efforts, every animal was moved to safety—some to dry areas onsite, others taken home by staff for emergency foster care.

Though all our animals are safe, the damage is devastating. Bedding, food, and vital equipment have been ruined. Repairs to the buildings alone will cost thousands of pounds—and we urgently need to invest in proper flood defences to prevent this from happening again.
