Why We Need Your Support

We need your support to help fund our summer camp as a fully disability-inclusive trip. The summer camp is a wonderful opportunity for children and young people to experience being in nature, camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities such as canoeing and river swimming, whittling, crafts, campfire cooking and night walks.

This an incredibly important part of what we do, as for many of the children and young people who use our services, growing up in south London, and experiencing multiple forms of deprivation, they will not have any such opportunities elsewhere in their lives.

We are an inclusive organisation, and we make all our activities available to both disabled and non-disabled children and young people.

Your kind gift will help cover the cost of making the trip disability inclusive, which is the lion’s share of our costs.

From our existing funding sources, we can meet some but not all of the costs. Your gifts don’t just put the icing on the cake with extra memorable experiences but also actually make the trip possible!

Many of the children and young people who use our services are non-verbal and need 1:1 or 2:1 support at all times, including help eating, going to the toilet and personal care.

At a minimum we will need to cover the cost of at least four continuous support staff for a three night/four day camp.

The cost of our accommodation and canoeing activities is subsidised through our membership of the Clapham Consortium.

Your gift will help us not only cover staffing costs but also the cost of food and transport for the children and young people as well as our staff team. As well as any other activities that we can find, and have the budget for, that will enrich this experience for our campers.
