New Drugs Detection Dog

Organised by Orkney Drugs Dog

Help us raise funds for our new dog.

The Orkney Drugs Dog Charity raises funds to provide a trained drugs detection dog and handler to carry out searches at points of entry into Orkney and to deliver drug awareness education to all ages. Our aim is to reduce the supply of illegal drugs to keep Orkney a safe place to live, both now and for future generations.

Story

We are raising money towards the costs of securing a new, fully trained drugs detection dog for use in the Orkney Islands.

Our stalwart dog, Zoe has done an amazing job over the years but is nearing retirement from duties. Little brother Keegan will still be in operation but we require two dogs for sharing out the busy workload.

We’ve teamed up with local Estate Agent and Businesswoman Karen Allan in order to promote this fundraiser. Karen has agreed to make a donation following the sale of each of her properties and we hope other individuals and businesses will follow her generous lead.

The £12,000 target is set as it would cover MOST of the costs associated with securing the fully trained dog for our charity.

Over the year we will be raising awareness of our daily duties and educational work with schools and community groups on our Facebook page and will also share how we take care of the dogs, as animal welfare is one of our top priorities.
