Story
In Nigeria, children and adults living with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) face a daily reality most of us could never imagine. Bones so fragile that they can break from a simple step or sneeze. Chronic pain that never truly goes away. Deformities that limit movement, independence, and opportunity.
But we have seen hope in action—because of you.
Thanks to your previous donation many years back for our first ever surgery done in Nigeria, we were able to support corrective surgery for a few children living with OI in Nigeria. Before surgery, fractures were frequent, mobility was limited, and the future felt uncertain. Today, these children stand taller, move with confidence, and live with renewed possibility. What once seemed impossible is now part of everyday life—walking with less pain, smiling with more confidence, and dreaming without limits.
Now, more families are waiting for that same miracle.
We are seeking to raise £26,000 to fund bisphosphonate medication (bone strengthener) and life-changing corrective surgeries for 10 individuals living with OI in Nigeria. These surgeries will reduce the risk of fractures, correct bone deformities, relieve chronic pain, and restore mobility. For children, it means returning to school without fear. For adults, it means greater independence, dignity, and the opportunity to contribute fully to their communities.
This initiative also includes essential post-operative physiotherapy and follow-up care to ensure lasting recovery and sustainable impact.
Your support does more than fund surgery.
It restores hope.
It rebuilds confidence.
It gives someone the chance to stand, walk, and live without constant fear of breaking a bone and pain.
Every pound matters. Every share matters. Every act of kindness brings us closer to changing another life in Nigeria.
Please donate if you can. Share this message. Help us turn £26,000 into stronger bones, brighter futures, and renewed hope.
Together, we can make fragility a story of strength.
