The Olive Walk is our main fundraising effort for the year and embodies what the Olive Academies Foundation stands for: bringing people together to support others.
Olive Walk 2025 is hosted by our Nene Valley academy in Cambridgeshire. As a result of fundraising by OA Foundation, our Nene Valley students have been able to undertake and complete the Duke of Edinburgh's bronze award: funds raised have helped provide expedition equipment and reduce the cost of the expeditions. Other students are also actively involved in a new wellbeing garden, funded by the OA Foundation, which will be a blaze of colours and scents this summer.
This year’s sponsored walk will take place at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough from 1pm on Saturday, 28th June. Our £5,000 fundraising target will enable pupils at Olive Academies to take part in our specialist outdoor learning programme, Venture Beyond, and open up other opportunities for them. Venture Beyond helps students to build character and self-confidence by supporting them to try new and challenging activities, and develop independence through residential stays.
Funds raised enable marginalised children and young people to get out of the classroom and into the wilderness, where they are supported to push their limits in a process of self-discovery.
