Story
For the last decade, Omega, the National Association for End of Life Care has supported family caregivers, the bereaved and people aged over 75 years old with a wide range of complex end of life issues. We have also helped with lots of urgent practical problems. Many of the people we work with across the UK are lonely and suffer from social isolation. Coming to terms with caregiving, loss, and frailty in old age is not easy and facing end of life issues alone can be devastating.
We are a small charity with a tiny staff team and over 100 enthusiastic volunteers. We work hard to bring communities together, ease loneliness and isolation, and reduce pressure on already over-stretched public services. Omega care for life is the home of the multi-award-winning Chatterbox Action Against Loneliness Programme, an enhanced telephone befriending initiative, and the popular A Letter from Louise pen pal service.
There are lots of people who still need our support. If you are in a position to do so, please help us to reach more clients in crisis. Throughout December and over the Christmas 2019 holiday period, we invite you to make a donation towards our important work. Even small amounts can make an immediate difference. With your generous support we can help more clients to live happier, more fulfilled and more independent lives in 2020.
· £5 could contribute towards the cost of postage for an A Letter from Louise client for 6 months.
· £10 could pay for one Chatterbox call to a lonely client.
· £25 could contribute towards induction training costs for one volunteer Chatterbox Befriender.
Please help us to begin another decade supporting clients who need our help.
THANK YOU!
Life can be lonely for so many people today and to have a phone call is wonderful." - Lynn, volunteer Chatterbox Befriender.
