Too often the staff at the Karmanos Cancer Institute Northern Michigan hear from patients who are cancelling their appointment because they cannot afford the gas to get there, are not filling their new prescriptions because they cannot afford it, or are in tears because they don't know how they will put food on their family's table. Thanks to support from generous donors, we are able to provide patient assistance to help them overcome financial barriers and focus on their treatment.

The Oncology Patient Assistance Program assists with non-reimbursable costs for care such as:

- Transportation Assistance

- Lodging Assistance

- Nutritional Supplements

- Short Term Prescriptions Aid

- Minor Medical Equipment and Medical Supplies

- Breast Health Scholarships for diagnostic testing such as Mammograms and Breast Health Supplies
