Nystagmus means involuntary movements of the eye. It impairs vision, affecting focus and depth perception. At least 1 in 1,000 babies are born with nystagmus. There is currently no cure. The Nystagmus Network is a UK registered charity which provides support, raises awareness and funds research.

Story

The Nystagmus Network has funded research since the 1990s. We've seen some huge steps forward since then.

Diagnostic testing is now so advanced that an eye doctor can tell parents with confidence which line of the chart a tiny baby will be able to read when they are older.

There's so much more knowledge today about this complex condition, but sadly there are still very few treatment options and no cure.

That's why we're asking our supporters to help us raise £1,000 with one thousand miles for nystagmus research this summer, for the one in one thousand babies who'll be born with nystagmus this year.

If we all cover a few miles and raise a few pounds each, we really can make a big difference.
