World Cancer Day falls on the 4th February 2025 and is a day that creates lots of awareness around issues that people living with cancer face across the globe. We are very excited to continue our #OneWordForCancer campaign to explore the common themes that young adults affected by cancer come up against daily. Our fundraising goal for this year's campaign is £1,000 and we are aiming to get 50 #OneWordForCancer selfies!

The community we have built here at Shine Cancer Support over the years is so special and we'd love to be around for as long as we're needed to provide support and comfort, ensuring no one in their 20s, 30s, and 40s has to face cancer alone. Raising £1,000 this year will ensure that 100 people are connected through their local Shine Network. Our Shine Networks provide a safe, informal, and friendly space for young adults with cancer to connect with people living through similar experiences. Please support us this World Cancer Day. Every single penny enables us to continue our work, whether it be one of our events such as Shine Camp or Shine Connect, our programmes that take place both online and in person, or our resources offering lots of practical advice.

We'd also love it if you wanted to get involved in our #OneWordForCancer campaign. The #OneWordForCancer campaign is where we ask our community to write down their word and send it in to us with a small explanation on why they've chosen it. They can share it with us or pop it directly onto their socials! It's simple - save and print off your poster (which you can grab from the top of this page!), write the one word you think of when you think of cancer, take your selfie, and send it to us at fundraising@shinecancersupport.org
