The Cobblers are teaming up with SpecialEffect to take part in “One Special Walk” and to raise funds for both SpecialEffect and NTFC Community Trust with sponsorship generated by the Northampton Town Football Club walking team being split between the two charities.
SpecialEffect (charity number 1121004) have supported many young people, including Cobblers fans and their life-changing work enables people to enjoy video games and technology, fostering inclusion and joy where it is often lacking.
A team from the club, including chairman Kelvin Thomas, Director Jim Rosenthal and Chief Executive James Whiting as well as NTFC Community Trust CEO, Phill Smith, will be taking part in the challenge.
NTFC Community Trust (charity number 1092502) is the official charity of The Cobblers and uses the unique appeal of Northampton Town Football Club to deliver activities that connect communities and improve people’s lives.
The walk will take place on Friday 3 October and will work its way through London from West Ham United’s London Stadium to Wembley Stadium via a 25km route.
Cobblers chairman Kelvin Thomas said,
""Jim and I are proud and privileged to be Vice Presidents of such a fantastic charity," he said.
"We have seen first hand the different SpecialEffect can make, and the way they help people in need and their families.
"We also know how much fantastic work the Northampton Town Community Trust does and how much of a difference the club makes to the lives of people in Northamptonshire.
"We are delighted that we have put a big staff team together to take part in what will be a challenging but very enjoyable and worthwhile event."
