Online education is more important than ever, and the Online Student Leaders Scholarship recognizes the outstanding work of leaders in the Virtual Student Senate (VSS). These selfless volunteers help FHSU navigate the changing landscape of online learning so that FHSU keeps offering the best educational experience anywhere.

The VSS began representing FHSUs online students over a decade ago and has worked with FHSU to accomplish many shared goals. The Senate and its committees advocate for all online students - working with faculty and administrators to expand online resources, opportunities, and experiences.

VSS Senators are elected each fall to represent the student body. Each Senator also participates in at least one committee which oversees the functions of the VSS, builds and enhances student communication programs, and works to ensure appropriate diversity and inclusion for all online students at FHSU.

Senators selected for the Online Student Leaders Scholarship will have:

Completed the full Senate session from the preceding academic year

Met all attendance requirements

Participated in compliance with the VSS bylaws
