Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. We hope you had a blast dodging obstacles and outrunning predators with our tenacious parrot.
In real-life kākāpō are found only in New Zealand, where they used to be one of the country's most common birds. That was before Europeans and their entourage of furry mammals made their entrance... Now there are just 200 of these chubby, seed-loving herbivores left.
To make matters even more serious kākāpō are unique: meaning that they have no close living relatives. If we lose these amazing flightless parrots, they're not coming back. Just like 1 in 8 other bird species around the world, this intrepid survivor needs our help.
We are On the Edge, the storytellers and scientists behind your Kākāpō Run game. We're trying to safeguard 100s of Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered (EDGE) species through our games, animations and work with conservation organizations.
And we're really grateful that you're considering making a donation to protect the kākāpō and other critically endangered EDGE birds, as well as other threatened EDGE species.
