Story

Finn is aged 9 from Bristol and has cerebral palsy.

The Innowalk will enable Finn to walk without any adult help every day at home. As well as feeling lovely to be upright and moving, walking is crucial for healthy hip development. Dynamic weight bearing (offered by the Innowalk) allows Finns hips to develop properly.

Without the equipment to help him walk, the risk of hip dislocation meant Finn was expected to need major surgery. After such surgery, it would take a year to regain his original strength and movement, with no guarantee of a full recovery. But, having used a small size Innowalk for 5 years, his hips have stabilised and his orthopaedic surgeon now believes surgery will not be necessary.

Finn has outgrown his small Innowalk, and now needs the larger size. Without the ongoing daily walking he has enjoyed in his Innowalk Finn's health will deteriorate. He needs the next Innowalk for hip development, bone density, good organ health, respiratory health, muscle strengthening and flexibility and the sheer pleasure of being out of a wheelchair, upright and moving!
