Story
After the success of our last two consecutive events, I am hosting another unforgettable evening which includes a dinner, catwalk show, dancing to a local band, Upfront & Casual, at the wonderful Cumberwell Park in Bradford On Avon.
As some of you may know, I have been a part of charity/bridal catwalk shows for over 30 years. I love being on the catwalk , it’s the best fun for someone who normally wears black!
The tagline for the show and artwork is “Who are you when no one is watching?”
Jay and Louis were both larger than life, or that’s how they appeared to the audience. They were both beautiful, physically fit, energetic, funny and charismatic men and yet they left massive holes in the lives of those around them when they died by suicide.
I was lucky to share some brilliant times on the catwalk with them both.
Following Louis’ death, I said I wanted to raise money in aid of men’s suicide, and here I am in my 3rd year!
This year’s tickets sold out by the end of August and I am so very grateful for the support.
Those of you who cannot come along and wish to donate to the pot, we have created a Justgiving page that helps raise the £££’s.
I’m raising funds again for Wiltshire Mind as an Ambassador this year.
This local mental health charity relies solely on fundraising and voluntary donations from the local community, and despite being short of funds, they are always working tirelessly to ensure anyone in Wiltshire can get the support they need.
I am asking for small amounts from many people and the saying ‘every little helps’ is so true in this case.
If you can, please donate, simply by hitting the donation button. Every giver adds up!
Please share if you can.
Thank you.
This year I shall have my very dear Dad in my pocket. He was my biggest supporter and cheerleader and he sadly died from a complication from chemotherapy in May. This sudden loss has meant that I’m now trying to navigate this world without him.
He loved this charity event and he told people how proud he was of what the OGD team were doing.
Our 2025 OGD event is dedicated to him.. the wonderful Clive Miles aka ‘Napper’.
