“We saved someone’s life” read the title of an email I opened this past summer. In short, a community member in the midst of an opioid overdose had come to The Family Center’s door and was literally dying on our steps.
A Family Center staff member recalled the steps her team took to administer NARCAN, get this person help, and ultimately, save a life.
Save a life with The Family Center: donate to support our opioid overdose prevention work today.
Thirty years ago, The Family Center was born in the midst of another epidemic destroying lives and ruining families. Three women and I had the audacious vision of responding to HIV/AIDS’s impact on children and families with integrated social, legal and health services.
Thanks to your support and your contributions, The Family Center model of care worked! After working with The Family Center, children’s home environments are more intellectually-stimulating, and family members experience fewer hospitalizations. Saving taxpayers millions of dollars every year, Family Center attorneys keep families in their homes and out of shelters.
Just as we successfully confronted the HIV/AIDS epidemic, so too can we, together, address the devastation of the opioid epidemic on children and families. Please donate today.
Thank you in advance for your support,
Ivy Gamble Cobb
