Story
Be part of the next chapter in the story of Riflemen
For over 200 years, Riflemen have stood apart—soldiers whose innovation, bold ideas, and independent thought and action changed the face of warfare forever. Since 1989, The Rifleman’s Museum has worked to bring that story to life.
Now, we’re building something new, and we want you to be part of it.
Incentives
Every contribution, large or small, helps bring this project to life—and every supporter becomes part of the Rifleman’s story. As a thank you for your support, we’re proud to offer the following:

All supporters receive the benefits from previous tiers.
What does the project involve?
We’re creating a powerful, immersive new gallery that brings the story of Riflemen right up to the present day, showcasing The Rifles from their formation in 2007 and covering the regiment’s history, customs and ethos, and role in the UK’s defence and security.
We’re building a space where the story isn’t something you just read about—it’s something you experience. You’ll step into the world of today’s Rifleman, exploring real equipment used on operations, hearing personal stories from Iraq and Afghanistan, and even experiencing the pressure of decision-making from a modern command post.
But that’s not all: we’re also opening up more of the Museum to visitors than ever before. Our remarkable library, a treasure trove of regimental history, will be given its own space, visible and accessible to the public for reference and research. You’ll even get a glimpse behind the scenes of how the museum preserves and restores artefacts.
These projects will ensure that the story of the Rifleman continues to inspire future generations—keeping it alive, relevant, and meaningful in today’s world.
Why support the project?
Thanks to a generous grant of £218,000 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and existing museum funds, the project is well on its way. But to complete the reference library we still need to raise a further £250,000.
Whether you’ve worn the uniform, have a family connection to the regiment, or just believe these stories deserve to be told, your support can help bring our vision to life.
Together, we can ensure that the story of the Rifleman continues to be told for generations to come.
