Alarmingly, one child is orphaned every 22 seconds in the world. Life is no doubt hard for these children. Fortunately, there is a system in place today that provides for these children and gives them access to some of the essentials of life such as food, clothing, shelter and even education.
Of the many members of society, orphans are among the most vulnerable. This is particularly true in countries where there is little social support and where services are largely inadequate.
Wives and children have been left reeling and grieving losing not just a beloved man but the little financial income that they had. Now widowed and orphaned, they face the hardest of circumstance alone just to survive each day.
Across the globe, poverty, war and natural disaster have claimed the lives of many. For many communities, men have lost their lives in their efforts to protect their families.
It is very difficult for widows to financially support themselves if they have children to look after. This problem is aggravated in countries which do not offer any support to them. By sponsoring a widow and her children, you can ameliorate their difficulties by covering their basic needs
