Ruspidge Memorial Hall belongs to the people of Ruspidge. It was 100 years old last year and still has the original roof. Thanks to the generosity of the people who have donated and grant funding we now have enough to replace the slates and the guttering and rainwater pipes. We just need another £1,600 to refurbish the tatty name and date panel on the front elevation and the fanlight over the front doors. The front of the building would then be truly transformed.
18 different groups meet weekly, and 9 groups meet monthly at the hall. The activities at the hall include a weekly drop-in ‘Community Hub’ providing a warm space and welcome with free refreshments; Council-run prescribed exercise classes; a Mend & Repair Café; a parent-and-toddler/baby group; Brownies and Guides; junior guitar classes; various different health/fitness/dance classes; dog training; martial art groups for all ages; Parish Council meetings; plus games, gardening, art and craft groups. It is the polling station and Gloucestershire Adult Education regularly runs courses there. It is available for community use every day and evening throughout the year.
