You are probably aware of how hard it has been for charities such as ours over the last few years. We are a small charity dedicated to providing a beautiful space in central Chichester for artists to show their work and for the public to enjoy it free of charge.

The economic crisis coupled with the lasting effects of the pandemic are affecting everyone, but have been particularly hard on the Gallery. Historically we have relied on gallery hire fees for a significant part of our income but, despite trying to keep our fees as low as possible, artists are finding this increasingly hard to find the money to show their work. We are particularly keen to help young, emerging and local artists to get started with their careers in order to maintain a vibrant art scene in the area for the future.

To help us Keep Art Alive in the heart of Chichester we are asking you to pledge £25 to become a Friend of the Gallery. The new Friends Scheme is part of a large fundraising campaign we are currently undertaking.

As a Friend of the Gallery you will be invited to meet the artists at the Private Viewings of each of our exhibitions. We will also be hosting a series of special Arts events for Friends throughout the year. Friends membership is annual and will be renewed each year.

But most of all, by becoming a Friend, you will be playing a vital part keeping art alive for everyone in and around Chichester. The Gallery not only provides the first opportunity for many artists to show their work, it also provides one of the few opportunities for the public to see and enjoy the work of contemporary artists and makers free of charge.
