The availability of clean drinking water in Pakistan is a complex issue with multiple factors contributing to its scarcity. Some of the main reasons include:

Water Pollution: Pakistan faces significant water pollution challenges due to industrial waste, agricultural runoff, and inadequate sanitation systems. Polluted water sources pose serious health risks to the population, making access to clean drinking water difficult.

Water Mismanagement: Inefficient water management practices, including outdated irrigation systems and lack of proper infrastructure for water treatment and distribution, exacerbate the problem of water scarcity and contamination.

Population Growth: Pakistan has a rapidly growing population, putting increased pressure on water resources. The demand for water exceeds the available supply in many regions, leading to shortages and competition for clean drinking water.

Climate Change: Climate change has further strained water resources in Pakistan, leading to unpredictable rainfall patterns, melting glaciers, and more frequent droughts and floods. These environmental changes impact the availability and quality of drinking water.
