Brighton Palace Pier to Chichester Cathedral Sponsored Walk for TS Zealous NTC

Paula Gander has agreed to walk in one day from Brighton Palace Pier to Chichester Catherdral, a journey that exceeds 30 miles. These efforts are all in aid of TS Zealous, the Hollingbury unit of the Nautical Training Corps.

The Nautical Training Corps promote the development of young persons in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, particularly by educating such persons in all aspects of the history and practice of seamanship and seafaring.

Story

Paula has agreed to take on a massive task of over a 30 mile walk to be completed in a day.

She has offered to do this to support her local NTC unit based in Hollingbury, Brighton as they are now in need to replace the roof upon the hut they use to support the work they do in the local community as works have been quoted to be in excess of £20,000!!

Paula has spent many months training for this event which will take place on the 11th April 2026. Starting at Brighton Palace Pier and making her way to Chichester Cathedral.

As a wider organisation, The Nautical Training Corps has been operating throughout the South of England for the last 80 years!

Originally established just after world war two to assist young people with returning to post war times, we have now evolved with the times to provide our offering we do now.

We currently operate 12 divisions throughout the south coast of England and provide a busy and varied calendar of activities and events for the young people to get involved with.

As an organisation, we aim to teach, develop and nurture important life and employability skills within our young people and adult volunteers during their time with us.

We are entirely volunteer led and self funded, we do not receive any kind of military funding some of our counterparts do.

Everything we do has to be funded through community events, grants and fundraising such as this campaign.

Thank you for taking the time to look at and consider our campaign, and we are eternally grateful for any donations we receive. Thank you.
